The Rogue Nation of Chylopod is a gargantuan, orderly nation, ruled by Max Venom with an iron fist, and remarkable for its compulsory military service, complete lack of prisons, and complete absence of social welfare. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 12.186 billion Chylopodes are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

The minute, pro-business government, or what there is of one, is primarily concerned with Defense, although Law & Order, Education, and Administration are also considered important, while International Aid and Welfare aren't funded at all. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Maxilla. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 5.5%.

The very strong Chylopode economy, worth 875 trillion maxillipeds a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with major contributions from Tourism, Cheese Exports, and Door-to-door Insurance Sales. Average income is 71,876 maxillipeds, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 247,066 per year while the poor average 15,331, a ratio of 16.1 to 1.

Anti-government web sites are springing up, jaywalking is punishable by public flogging, government policies change at the drop of a rabbit, and scavengers with burlap sacks and shovels skulk around graveyards. Crime is a serious problem, perhaps because of the country's complete lack of prisons. Chylopod's national animal is the centipede.
