The Red Chicken Nation of Chicken Ander is a massive, orderly nation, ruled by Chick Smith with an iron fist, and renowned for its compulsory military service, ban on automobiles, and complete absence of social welfare. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless, devout population of 2.15 billion Chickens are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The large, corrupt, moralistic, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Administration, and Spirituality. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Chickjing. The average income tax rate is 29.9%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but stagnant Chicken economy, worth 15.8 trillion Chicks a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is an enormous, deeply entrenched, extremely specialized black market in Arms Manufacturing and Basket Weaving. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 7,365 Chicks, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Bug burgers are extra crunchy, minority religions have been reclassified as "heresies we stamped out", the last thing Chicken soldiers hear before charging into battle is a preacher trying to convert them, and people on the brink of death are put through unwanted and stressful procedures. Crime is all-pervasive, perhaps because of the country's complete lack of prisons. Chicken Ander's national animal is the Chicken, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is Atheism.

Chicken Ander is ranked 328,243^rd in the world and 5,520^th in The North Pacific for Largest Automobile Manufacturing Sector, scoring -17.94 on the Henry Ford Productivity Index.
