(Illegal Document) Me and the State

Taken from a diary of a hostile enemy of the State, former Low Maester of the Will of the Great Leader and former Deputy Secretary of the Ideological Committee of the Faculty of the Will of the Great Leader of the Communal University of Commune VII06.04. Written when that hostile enemy was a high school student. Archived by the State on purpose, ban from all citizens.

Me and the State

At the end of secondary school, I was most exposed to Western culture through the illegal books, as my father was a cadre. Gradually, I discovered that what I had learned at school was not entirely true. I considered the state an evil force that only knew how to deceive people, and I tried every way to live abroad in the future even when I knew that was impossible.

Then I studied for the "Contest for gifted students" only to get a job in diplomacy so that some day I can escape Bourgeoiss and with that in mind, whether I wanted to or not, I still had to learn history from the State's perspective. Then I was given many things by the State for my achievements, so I looked at the State in a more straightforward way.

And when my dream had to end when I only got the second place in the contest, I failed to get a bright future as a diplomatic cadre like my father. I didn't know what to do next, but looking back at what I had here, I thought that Bourgeoiss was not so bad. I would ignore the Great Leader and focus on myself.

And now I want to leave Bourgeoiss. I will probably never look at the State and the Great Leader positively again, even though I used to at least ignore the Great Leader. The people in the country I was born in choose the status quo, so if I don't support it, I'll go. I know going abroad is illegal, but I at least have going abroad on my mind.

Anyways, tomorrow is "Liberation" day. I wish Bourgeoiss, no matter what regime, will develop more and more in all aspects, because my homeland will always be Bourgeoiss. As for me, my father is guiding me to become an ideological cadre, so I will probably stay here forever. So despite all my hatred for the Great Leader and the State, I will still have to scream the meaningless slogan, "Long live the State. There is no other god than our Great Leader."

The hostile enemy who wrote this was sentenced to 15 years of retraining and light labour for betraying the Will of the Great Leader.
