The Federal Republic of Azassas is a colossal, efficient nation, ruled by Noa Snatzel with an even hand, and remarkable for its public floggings, compulsory military service, and keen interest in outer space. The hard-nosed, humorless population of 6.454 billion Azassasians are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.

The relatively small, corrupt, moralistic government prioritizes Industry, although Education, Defense, and Administration are also considered important, while Spirituality and International Aid aren't funded at all. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Agla. The average income tax rate is 90.3%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Azassasian economy, worth a remarkable 3,623 trillion Azes a year, is broadly diversified and mostly comprised of black market activity, especially in Information Technology, Tourism, Retail, and Arms Manufacturing. State-owned companies are common. Average income is a breathtaking 561,366 Azes, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Death row inmates cower in fear at the phrase "one-year anniversary", a massive campaign is underway to ensure the race of Azassas remains pure, the Navy has outraged the international community by sinking a boatload of refugees to prevent them reaching the shore, and doctors prescribe medicines but they rarely dispense hope or compassion. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, despite the fact that it is difficult to make it through a day without breaking one of the country's many laws. Azassas's national animal is the Eagle, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.

Azassas is ranked 336,875th in the world and 5,768th in The North Pacific for Most Pacifist, with 2.93 cheeks turned per day.
