The Republic of Aurora Road is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Dr Philip Lambert with a fair hand, and renowned for its smutty television, zero percent divorce rate, and daily referendums. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic, devout population of 1.314 billion Aurora Roadians are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

The relatively small government juggles the competing demands of Industry, Law & Order, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Idyll City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 9.3%.

The frighteningly efficient Aurora Roadian economy, worth 190 trillion sequoias a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Retail industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Arms Manufacturing, and Uranium Mining. Average income is an impressive 145,282 sequoias, but there is an enormous disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 765,305 per year while the poor average 14,696, a ratio of 52.1 to 1.

Money grows on trees, vats of anabolic steroids are being dumped into the ocean to make Aurora Roadian mussels the biggest in The North Pacific, children have lost interest in toy guns in favor of toy meth lab kits, and commercial jingles have been ham-handedly forced into world renowned symphonies. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Aurora Road's national animal is the Swan, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.
