Today, I stand before you with a heavy heart, burdened by the weight of unprecedented event in the history of allkind. Our world faces a grave threat from an extraterrestrial projectile named "Kali," hurtling relentlessly towards our beloved planet, Aramnah come in three months. As President, it is my duty to address this crisis and provide you with the information we have gathered so far.
Kali, a sphere-like object measuring approximately one-third the size of a moon, carries immense levels of radioactive energy. Despite extensive investigations by our brave Survey Corps on the Jakuuk Base, no lifeforms have been reported aboard the projectile. While we have made progress in understanding its physical properties, there are still questions left unanswered. The mysteries surrounding Kali persist, reminding us of the vastness and complexity of the universe we inhabit.
We acknowledge the panic and fear that this impending catastrophe has sparked among our citizens. It is natural to feel overwhelmed in the face of such a threat. However, in times of crisis, it is crucial to remember our shared humanity and come together as one. Let us not allow fear to divide us, but rather let it serve as a catalyst for unity and solidarity.
The government of Aurevbush has formulated a comprehensive plan to mitigate the impact of Kali on our planet. Our top scientists, engineers, and experts have been tirelessly working to develop strategies to protect our citizens and preserve the survival of our civilization, even in the worst-case scenario.
We have focused our efforts on two primary fronts. Firstly, our scientists are exploring various technological solutions and countermeasures to divert or minimize the impact of Kali. Good Ending: Catastrophe Averted
The planetary defense initiative known as the Space Hedge of Protection (SHEOP) becomes operational after months of complications, successfully obliterating the Kali projectile into fragments. While a direct impact on Aramnah's surface is prevented, the resulting debris showers down, causing widespread but significantly less catastrophic damage. The government swiftly mobilizes disaster relief efforts, focusing on rescue operations, providing medical aid, and restoring critical infrastructure. Despite the challenges posed by the falling debris, the nation rallies together to navigate the aftermath and rebuild, drawing strength from their resilience and determination.
Bad Ending: Devastating Impact
Kali lands on Aramnah's surface, creating a colossal crater spanning 800 miles and triggering a barrage of fires and devastating coastal tides that ravage lands worldwide. The catastrophic impact leaves the few survivors with no choice but to seek shelter in elevated catacombs, as prolonged exposure to radiation proves fatal. The government faces the daunting task of coordinating rescue missions, establishing emergency medical facilities, and providing essential supplies to those taking refuge. The surviving population must endure a prolonged period of isolation until the radiation levels subside, while scientists and researchers explore the mysteries of the alien probe that remains shrouded in uncertainty.
Good Ending 2: Friendly Alien Encounter
True to some experts' midway judgements, Kali turns out to be a vessel no larger than a massive submarine, landing in a rural area but causing considerable damage within a 6 mile radius. Just before impact, an alien signal of goodwill and curiosity reaches humanity, expressing interest in the human species and other inhabitants of the planet. The aliens extend an offer to repair the damage caused by the probe's impact and collaborate with humanity to advance both civilizations. The government faces a critical decision, weighing the potential benefits and risks of accepting the alien assistance while ensuring the protection and autonomy of humanity.
The Search Commences: Diverted from Scenario 2:
After an alien probe crashed with indifferent violence, sparked by neither malice nor mercy, centuries of study could glean but glimpses of its makers. Through persevering analysis of its wreck, astronomers teased coordinates that tracked across the gulf to another sun. While unable to give chase, humanity gained profound insight - that among the stars dwelled intelligence not alone, and life was a common birthright across the Cosmos. A small consolation, but one that would spur generations to lift their sights ever higher.
Bad Ending 2: The War for Aramnah:
Kali stops shortly before reaching the atmosphere and deploys 20 much smallers ships across the globe. The signal emitted shortly before their arrival is one of intent to either subjugate human beings to their will or outright conquer them. The invaders give an ultimatum, "surrender yourselves or be wiped out." Many nations are eager to capitulate, but the Aurevbushan president (and former Lt. Cnl) Len Zorra is bit daring at the moment and declines to surrender and calls for the entire country to militarize and take up resistance against the alien invaders. Across Aurevbush, ordinary citizens braced to become resistance fighters overnight. As overwhelming alien armadas darkened the skies, the world held its breath waiting to see if patriotism and sheer cunning could overcome vastly superior invaders, or if defiance would seal humanity's doom by other means against an enemy showing no mercy. A final battle for sovereignty had begun.
A Hoax Turned Hot: (VERY UNLIKELY)
On the day of the Impact, doubts soon emerged from unlikely places. Leaks from Aphoehpan Space Command revealed their sensors never detected any inbound object. A disgraced astronomer from the Aphoephan Space Command came forward, exposing how he fabricated telemetry to garner funding for pet projects. With governments already committed to the alien narrative, none questioned plausible evidence until it was too late.
Public trust in institutions collapsed overnight. Riots engulfed cities as millions felt betrayed by leaders who prosecuted a global deception. With economies now dependent on alien talks, the speculative bubble popped violently.
Among the chaos, cults formed around reactionary figures. Some retreated to the wilderness awaiting Armageddon,while others launched terrorist campaigns against perceived enemies who "allowed the hoax". As authority dissolved, rogue militias fought each other in the power vacuum.
In Aurevbush, an extremist minority overthrew the democratically elected government. Under the charismatic but totalitarian ‘Prophet’ Ahriman, the new regime promised to restore order through an iron fist and prepare humanity for the real alien invasion they claimed was still coming.
Dissent was brutally purged. Moderate nations tried appeasing Ahriman to avoid war, but his aggressive expansionism could not be contained. Within decades a global shadow war ensued between authoritarian regimes and scattered resistance cells, as humanity was dragged into a new dark age born from a lie that shook the world. The once-promising era of First Contact was lost to the madness of paranoia, deception and power struggles in its wake. A civilization still troubled with old demons of war and repression lost its way, facing an unthinkable trial by fire to find the true path once more.
