The Empire of Ashanti is a gargantuan, efficient nation, ruled by Osei Tutu with an iron fist, and notable for its ritual sacrifices, keen interest in outer space, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate, cynical, devout population of 27.49 billion Ashantians are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The enormous, corrupt, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Industry, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Kumasi. The average income tax rate is 68.1%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Ashantian economy, worth a remarkable 2,648 trillion cedis a year, is highly specialized and mostly comprised of black market activity, especially in Book Publishing, Gambling, and Cheese Exports. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is 96,352 cedis, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.9 times as much as the poorest.

Lumberjacks only use certified eco-friendly chainsaws, one does not simply walk into the tundra, the new Refuse Hills housing development is under construction, and the military is on a massive recruiting drive in advance of an invasion of Brasilistan. Crime, especially youth-related, is pervasive. Ashanti's national animal is the Bird, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.

Ashanti is ranked 106,471^st in the world and 77^th in Africa for Most Extreme, scoring 22.93 on the Paul-Nader Subjective Decentrality Index.
