The Kingdom of Arcanopolis is a massive, orderly nation, notable for its museums and concert halls, rampant corporate plagiarism, and free-roaming dinosaurs. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 1.13 billion Arcanopolitans are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The enormous, corrupt, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Administration, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 75.4%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The strong Arcanopolitan economy, worth 92.5 trillion goldpieces a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is quite specialized, is led by the Trout Farming industry, with major contributions from Beef-Based Agriculture, Information Technology, and Arms Manufacturing. Average income is 81,842 goldpieces, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.8 times as much as the poorest.

Water fights now end with thousands dead, films are funded in accordance with the volume of tears shed when reading the screenplay, promising seven years of bad luck leads to seven years of community service, and Red Cross demand for body bags is rising while sutures go unused. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Arcanopolis's national animal is the gryphon, which is also the nation's favorite main course.
