Objectives

The Parliamentarian Party seeks to:

  1. Establish a strong legislature,

  2. Encourage activity in Parliament,

  3. Empower the Legislature and support more direct democracy.

    Party Structure

Party Leader - The Party Leader is the nation that leads discussions within the party and sets the direction of the party. The Party Leader is elected through a general election with party members.

Chief Advisor - The Chief Advisor acts as an advisory figure to the Party Leader, and may act as an interim Party Leader.

Legislator - A Legislator is any party member who has authored and successfully passed a piece of legislation. Legislators are encouraged to help new party members write legislation of their own.

    Positions on Regional Issues
Branches of Government - The Parliamentarian Party seeks a stronger legislature and a weaker executive branch, feeling that Parliament is the branch of government with the greatest ability to represent the citizens of the region.

Executive Orders and the Veto - The Parliamentarian Party generally disapproves of the use of executive orders and the veto, preferring that changes in regional law go through Parliament for a democratic review. However, we feel executive autonomy should be allowed in a few cases, as overregulation could stifle the region.

Residency and Citizenship - The Parliamentarian Party favors a 20-day requirement of residency for citizenship as well as certain restrictions on dual citizenship in order to ensure that citizens are active in the region. We feel that the current 30-day requirement is too restrictive.

Voting Rights - The Parliamentarian Party believes that all residents should be allowed to vote but that residency should not be given to all puppet nations - instead, the region should ensure that residents are people who are active in the region or have their main nation in the region. TPP also strongly opposes any measures to remove Members of Parliament from the legislative body, or to make entering Parliament a more difficult task than it already is.

Regional Court - The Parliamentarian Party believes in a strong, independent, and impartial Regional Court. This Court, in the Party's opinion, should be representative of more than one major regional party and should seek to keep political beliefs out of its rulings.

Foreign Policy - The Parliamentarian Party favors stronger relations with embassy regions through interregional events and shares the region's firm stance against raider regions.

Regional Roleplay - The Parliamentarian Party believes that the regional roleplay should be reformed in order to be more welcoming to newer members. We feel it can be easily dominated by larger nations, or more experienced members, causing newer residents to lose interest.

Interpartisanship - The Parliamentarian Party believes that the government should seek opinions and advice from members of all parties in order to ensure that no member feels that their voice is unheard. We feel that Parliament is the single best method of achieving this goal, but also support interpartisanship in the Cabinet.
