The 3X of 3X is a gargantuan, efficient nation, notable for its disturbing lack of elderly people, sprawling nuclear power plants, and suspicion of poets. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless, devout population of 24.291 billion 3Xians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The medium-sized, corrupt, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Industry. The average income tax rate is 64.4%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient 3Xian economy, worth a remarkable 4,299 trillion Golds a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is an enormous, deeply entrenched, broadly diversified black market in Arms Manufacturing, Furniture Restoration, Woodchip Exports, and Information Technology. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an impressive 177,014 Golds, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.1 times as much as the poorest.

Park rangers perform full-body searches on suspected fungus smugglers, monarchs only get custody of the royal crown on holidays and weekends, party leaders rely on horoscopes to create "ticket balance", and the long arm of the law possesses a rather slow hand. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. 3X's national animal is the Elephant, which can occasionally be seen sifting through garbage in the nation's cities.
