Pop culture of Hanamishima (WIP)

The pop culture of Hanamishima is characterized by a general culture of cute that runs throughout the country, which is often called Kawaii culture. Their is also a fairly optimistic view on many things like robots and potential aliens, viewing them as helpers and friends instead of ultra hardcore destroyers of worlds. Animated shows under the name of Anime (the Hanamishimajin word for animation) are highly prevalent. Dramas are also rather common, along with the one of the most popular genres of movie being Kaiju (giant monsters).

Popular companies

it’s all original, I swear

With the news of finally coming out of isolation, many companies in Hanamishima are considering the potential of shipping some of their products internationally, with hopes of spreading hanamishimajin culture around the globe (and profits). These companies include:

Pintendo
a video game company that started as hanafuda (traditional hanamishimajin playing cards). Currently known for their best selling console “the Pintendo Swap”, which is a hybrid handheld and console. Their flagship franchise is Super Giuseppe.

Gandai Namuco
A toy and video game maker, Gandai Namuco is one of the biggest companies in Hanamishima. In terms of their toy and model branch, their biggest line is the bunpla plastic model kits, based off of mechs from the show “Mobile Suit Bandamu”, made in collaboration with Sunset studios. In terms of video games their most famous is the arcade game “Gaku man” which is commonly romanized as Gac man.

Boyota
The largest car company of Hanamishima (which their are many, Boyota is known for making high quality cars, with several of their models being rather famous and well respected within the racing (both track and street) communities of Hanamishimajin.

Poho
One of the largest movie studios in Hanamishima, they are particularly famous for their movies about giant monsters known as Kaiju, with the most known of which being King Kitorah.

Bainnax
one of the largest and most respected animation studios in Hanamishima. Their most famous franchise is Neon Genesis Angelion. (Literally just NGE but with irl stuff exchanged for RGBN.)

Rejunderi Pictures Inc.
Rejunderi is a movie studio that is the main rival of Poho. They are trying to get into the Kaiju market, and have had a few hits such as the giant butterfly, Buttra. They are working on a themepark, and are trying to make a new original Kaiju know as Gojira for the park, and to bring a smaller version to life with genetech from the people of Plaugetopia.
